Our work in schools helps us to generate awareness, interest and participation in music. Our teams of musician educators deliver a range of musical access programmes to an average of 38 schools in Louth each year.
MUSIC MATTERS PRE INSTRUMENTAL
Music Matters is our early years music programme suitable for pre-schools and infant classes. Children develop musical skills through singing games, rhyme and percussion drawing on pedagogies such as Kodaly, Dalcroze and Orff.
We provide opportunities for children at primary school to develop playing skills on Various instruments including violin, fiddle, mixed strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass), ukulele and singing, recorder and harp.
For post primary schools, we offer TY Trax, a 3-day course for TY groups which introduces young people to modern methods of music using technology. There is also the opportunity to visit the Music Generation Louth hub in Dundalk to try out a variety of pop/rock instruments and take part in a band performance workshop.
