Music Generation Louth celebrated another successful year of music making with two spectacular evening concerts at An Táin Theatre, Dundalk on Wednesday 1 June and the Barbican Centre, Drogheda on Tuesday 7 June 2016.
Over two hundred children and young people took part in the events that showcased a selection of Music Generation’s current programme activity across the county.
Acts in Dundalk included Dundalk Junior Brass Band and School Recorder Ensemble, Songbirds singing group, Junior Strings, Louth Harp Ensemble and a number of solo and chamber music performances on guitar, saxophone, flute and clarinet.
The Drogheda concert featured a selection of performances by school groups involved in strings and fiddle programmes: Callystown NS, St Joseph’s Sundays Gate, St Joseph’s Mell, and St Joseph’s Secondary School, St Paul’s Senior School. The audience were also treated to some great singing from our group Young Louth Voices interspersed by performances on flute, pipes, strings and guitar.
