The team at Music Generation Louth has created this special online orchestra project to keep us connected and playing music with all our student musicians!
Whilst we can’t have real live rehearsals or classes at the minute, we still want to provide some exciting opportunities for students at our centres and in our partner schools to connect and to make music together. We are especially keen to hear from students who are not yet involved in any of our ensemble groups!
Our new online orchestra project comprises of a series of online rehearsal sessions with Music Generation Louth tutors across May and June, access to practice videos/music notes and scores for home practice. Our plan at the end will be to create a virtual performance, showcasing all our amazing young performers in a specially crafted video!
This exciting new project is totally free and membership is open to anyone of primary school age who participates in a Music Generation Louth programme – either IN-SCHOOL (if you are learning violin, viola, fiddle, cello, double bass, ukulele, guitar, recorder, keyboards, drums with us at your school) or if you learn music with us as part of our AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMME in Ardee, Dundalk and Drogheda. Ideally students will have access to the instrument that you are learning at home but don’t worry if not! You can still participate if you can find another instrument to play. Alternatively we can involve you with a singing and special percussion part!
Ideally, students will need to have access to their instrument to participate. In the event that a student doesn’t have his/her instrument, they can still participate if a) they can source another instrument or b) they would like to do some singing and play percussion.
