Registration is now open for new members to join Music Generation Louth’s String Orchestra Progamme with rehearsals recommencing Saturday 29 August at the PJ Carroll’s Building, Section of Music at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT). The programme offers young players high quality training as orchestral string players. It is a fantastic way for young players to develop their musical skills as well as make lots of new friends and have great fun!
An exciting schedule of events and performance has been planned for the year ahead with rehearsals running each Saturday morning during school term time. Under the direction of local musician Jayne Graham, the programme has now grown to cater for three levels of young string players – Senior Strings,Junior Strings and First Strings.
Membership to First Strings is open to anyone who has been attending lessons on violin, viola, cello or double bass for a year or more. Junior Strings caters for young players who have attained grades 1- 3 standard of playing and Senior Strings caters for more advanced players.

We are very grateful for the continued support given by Dundalk Institute of Technology in allowing us access the wonderful facilities in the Section of Music, PJ Carroll’s Building at DkIT for our weekly rehearsal sessions.

FEES
Annual membership fee per child/young person for 2015/16
Senior Strings €100
Junior Strings and First Strings €80
Fees are payable in two instalments; at the start of term 1 (29 August 2015) and at the start of term 2 (9 January 2016). Please note we can presently only accept payment by cash/cheque. Cheques should be made payable to the LMETB.Those registered for instrumental lessons (strings) with Music Generation Louth are eligible to a 50% discount.
For families with more than one child participating in the orchestra programme, membership isvoffered with a 20% discount. The above membership fee includes provision of uniform (Music Generation Louth t shirt), and allvassociated transport costs to events and performances.
